Description

This was taken from a small island, just after the sun had gone down. The amount of mosquitos was torture, I couldn't wait to get away as soon as I was done.

First things first, I really like this picture because it reminds me of one of my favorite places that my family and I rarely get to visit so five out of five for the impact!

Also, this picture is very elegant. The soft ripples of the water give this photo a soft and peaceful feel. While the trees and clouds are darker shades to give it a sense of sadness or foreboding. This is why I think the title is perfect for this picture. While there are many similar photographs on the same concept ( lake surrounded by tress with colorful clouds in the sky ) it is unique because of the darker and softer colors in the clouds and sky. Many people like to see vibrant colors in the sky but the fact that this photo doesn't makes the viewer feel relaxed and can enjoy the beauty of the lake.

I also really like that some of the trees are reflecting off the water and some are not. Many pictures you see are either all reflections or none at all and this is another example of this photo's uniqueness.

The only thing I don't particularly care for in this photo is the yellow platform in the water to the left. I feel it is a little distracting from the tranquility that the rest of the photo has. But since it is darker, it's not very noticeable and it's still a photo that I enjoy viewing.

All in all, I really love this photo as it brings back many nice memories and it has its own unique feel to it. The colors are elegant, and it has an all around peaceful sadness to it that causes it to have a fitting title. Very nice work!
